BUFFALO, N.Y. — Will the weather be a trick or a treat on Halloween night?
In Western New York, the weather on Halloween can be mild one year, and snowy the next.
Last year, it snowed. The year before that, it was very pleasant with temperatures in the 60s. Five years ago, Halloween was very wet and stormy.
This year, Halloween is likely going to be a record breaker. With a high temperature of 74°, this is likely to be the warmest Halloween on record with the old record being 73° set in 1971.
With the warmth will come a stout breeze, with winds gusting to 30 to 40 mph during the day and even into the evening.
Unfortunately, rain is also in the forecast for Halloween evening.
Rain timing appears to have showers arriving a bit after sunset, likely after 7:30 p.m.
Scattered showers will come to an end late overnight with drier weather but much cooler on Friday.
