BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Weather Impact Alert Day has been issued for Tuesday with the threat of heavy rain from thunderstorms, which could cause isolated flooding being the main concern.
Thunderstorms developing by the afternoon and lasting into the evening. Some of these thunderstorms could contain torrential rain with a risk of some flooding in places that see several thunderstorms in a shorter period of time.
The very warm and humid airmass in place will increase the threat of excessive rainfall in spots. Many areas have the potential of receiving one inch of rain or more from some of these thunderstorms.
Localized flooding could develop quickly if any one area is under a thunderstorm for more than 20 to 30 minutes. Thunderstorms will continue into this evening mainly, and diminish overnight.
