This is the last weekend of sunsets after 8 p.m. as we head into fall

The sun will set before 8 p.m. starting Monday, and average temperatures are dropping too as fall begins soon.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The first day of fall, climatologically, is Sept. 1, and the daylight time continues to get shorter and shorter. Average temperatures also continue to drop. 

This is the last weekend of sunsets after 8 p.m. Also, sunrises will be after 6:30 a.m.

In mid-September, the sunrise will be after 7 a.m., and the sunset will be before 7 p.m. end of the month.

In the meantime, the average high and low temperatures continue to drop. Average highs in the mid 70s to start September and drop to the mid 60s end of the month. The average lows in the upper 50s to start the month and then drop to the upper 40s end of the month.

The climatological fall months are September, October, and November. Winter begins Dec. 1, climatologically.
