Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Western New York cancelled

Strong thunderstorms rolled through Western New York Wednesday and brought heavy rain, gusty winds and lots of lightning.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Earlier Wednesday, cluster of storms quickly grew and intensified over southern Ontario, prompting a Severe Thunderstorm Watch to be issued for Western New York. 

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been cancelled for Western New York and McKean and Potter counties in northern Pennsylvania. The primary threats were for damaging wind gusts up to 65 mph, quarter size hail and lots of lightning.
