BUFFALO, N.Y. — Wednesday is a Weather Impact Alert Day.
A powerful cold front will approach our area on Wednesday bringing a chance for several stronger thunderstorms.
Wednesday starts out dry, then a more active day is possible for the afternoon and into the early evening.
The Storm Prediction Center has Western New York and Northern PA under a Slight Risk for isolated strong to even severe thunderstorms on Wednesday. Gusty damaging winds, hail and downpours are a possibility with some of the thunderstorms that develop. The main time frame watching is from Noon to 6pm.
Showers will wrap up quickly Thursday morning leading to a beautiful Thursday afternoon and Friday with more comfortable highs in the low 70s behind the cold front.
