BUFFALO, N.Y. — It is becoming more likely that a strong area of low pressure will bring a mix of rain, wind and snow to WNY late in the weekend and into the start of next week.
The jet stream is expected to dive into the Great Lakes early next week and spin up an area of low pressure mixed with cold air from Canada. The combination of the two will create an area of rain that will change to snow across a wide area from the eastern Great Lakes to the East Coast
The weekend will start out quiet but as this storm approaches rain will spread across the area on Sunday that could affect the Bills game. Colder air will pour in the state Sunday night which should change the rain to snow Monday. Snows will continue Tuesday with some enhancement off Lake Erie. Gusty winds can be expected as well.
Snowfall amounts do not look too high at this point but gusty winds could cause some blowing snow issues Monday into Monday night. Snow showers will ease on Tuesday.
