BUFFALO, N.Y. — It was another stormy and hectic afternoon in Western New York. Scattered thunderstorms started bubbling up around 1 p.m. Tuesday and very quickly started producing heavy rain and some strong wind gusts. The worst of the storms moved into Chautauqua County around 5 p.m. and raced northward through Western new York until they finally moved out just before 8 p.m.
The National Weather Service office in Buffalo has received a handful of wind damage reports in both southern Chautauqua County and southern Cattaraugus County. There are also power outages in some of the Northtowns.
Heavy rain began to fall again over night an for that reason a Flash Flood Warning was issued for Southern Erie and Northern Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties until 7:15 this morning. Heavy rain should move out of the area mid-morning with partly cloudy skies this afternoon.
