Fundraising total to help families following Eden tornado announced

Rayzors will leave the donation buckets out through next Sunday, for anyone who still wishes to donate.

EDEN, N.Y. — An Eden restaurant, Rayzors Dawg House, on Saturday held a daylong fundraiser to help people whose homes and property were damaged by an EF-2 tornado last Wednesday.

Rayzors offered free ice cream and urged people to make donations, and the restaurant's owners said they would match the amount raised, dollar-for-dollar.

A total of $7,500 was raised from their fundraising efforts. Rayzors raised $3,500 in donations on Saturday, then matched that number before adding another $500 from sales on Sunday.

"I think it's the right thing to do," Jeff Walker, managing partner at Rayzors Dawg House on North Main Street, said when asked about how the idea come about.
