BUFFALO, N.Y. — More help is on its way to Buffalo from a neighboring state.
On Thursday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf announced he would be sending personnel and equipment to help in the snow clean-up efforts.
“The astounding pictures and video out of Buffalo remind us that the weather can completely interrupt our plans, sadly with deadly consequences,” Wolf said.
“Pennsylvanians know how debilitating winter storms can be, and we’re happy that we can support our neighbors to the north when they need our help.”
Nine dump trucks and operators were sent and were expected to arrive on Thursday for a 24-hour operation.
The aid was sent via the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC), which allows for states and other U.S. territories to share aid and personnel during disasters.
Pennsylvania was not the only state to send aid to Buffalo and the surrounding areas. On Tuesday, New Jersey State Police- FEMA Urban Search and Rescue New Jersey Task Force 1 were sworn in by Acting Superintendent of the NYSP, Steven Nigrelli to assist in Buffalo.
