BUFFALO, N.Y. — Saturday night could be the night to see the Northern Lights locally again.
The Space Weather Prediction Center shows a decent viewing opportunity of the Northern Lights locally in Western New York into this weekend, with the Geomagnetic Storm, G-Scale at a level 3 (the range is 0 to 5) for Saturday night, and the K Index at a level 7. Mainly clear skies here will allow for a good chance for viewing as well!
The lights could glow similar to what we saw in August, but not as powerful as in May.
There was a lower chance for viewing Friday night, also with the clouds in place locally for much of the night.
Go to an area with lower light pollution, and enjoy.
