Mary Beth Wrobel is a freelance weekend meteorologist for Channel 2 who grew up in Buffalo with an interest in lake effect snow storms, blizzards and severe weather.
She earned a BS in Meteorology from SUNY Brockport and a BS in Communications/Media from SUNY Fredonia and has worked at WIVB, WROC in Rochester, NY, KSDK in St. Louis, MO and WFMY in Greensboro, NC. She is a full member of the American Meteorological Society, holding the Television Seal of Approval for Broadcasting.
Mary Beth occasionally appears as emcee or guest vocal soloist, as she has trained in classical voice at the Eastman Community Music School.
She began working at Channel 2 in 2009 and left for the west coast in 2013 to work for Cascade DAFO, a pediatric orthotics company. She returned to Channel 2 in October 2014 to occasionally present weather on the weekends while carrying out an account representative mission of helping kids to lead healthier, happier lives throughout the USA.
