Eight Days of Hope volunteering in North Carolina following Helene

Beginning Oct. 9 and running through Oct. 26, the Rapid Response Ministry will be volunteering to help flood victims in Haywood County, N.C.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Following their trip to Florida, Eight Days of Hope is on another mission to send volunteers to North Carolina, in wake of devastation from Hurricane Helene.

"For so many of these volunteers who go down, they think, you know, I'm going to be able to give them something, but they leave with something in return that they weren't quite expecting, the joy of serving," said Hannah Fletcher, communications director Eight Days of Hope.

Beginning Oct. 9 and running through Oct. 26, the Rapid Response Ministry will be volunteering to help flood victims in Haywood County, N.C.

The organization is currently looking for volunteers and can register on their website. Individuals must be 16 years old and older, and no training is required. They added that food and lodging will be provided.

Stephen Tybor III, Eight Days of Hope president and CEO said, “We are humbled to bring our volunteers and equipment to Haywood County to help families muck out their homes, sort debris, and most importantly, to remind them that they are not alone in their recovery journey.”
