Heather's Weather Whys: Severe Weather Awareness Week

April 29th through May 5th has been declared "Severe Weather Awareness Week" for the state of New York. Meteorologist Heather Waldman lists 5 things to think about and prepare for before severe weather threatens this season.

Western New York may have a national reputation for snow, but our warm season weather can be quite interesting too. Damaging winds, flash flooding and even tornadoes occur somewhere in our region every year. 

Severe Weather Awareness week is a time to think about the risks for where you live and more importantly, plan for them so you know what to do when minutes or even seconds count.
