We can define the start of spring in many ways. Meteorologists use March 1st. Astronomers use March 20. Western New Yorkers tend to use March 17, St. Patrick’s Day. Or at least a lot of people like to say that the worst of winter is behind us after parade day in downtown Buffalo.
