WARSAW, NY – A big clean-up was underway following flash flooding that hit the Village of Warsaw in Wyoming County late Saturday afternoon.
More than a foot of water was reported in village streets, and basements. Some streets were closed to traffic for several hours as a result.
Village officials declared a state of emergency because they don't have enough manpower or equipment to clean it all up.
The county is stepping in to help. On Sunday, the Red Cross reported that it was helping seven people displaced by the flooding.
