ALLEGANY COUNTY, N.Y. — Storms are creating issues for some in the Southern Tier.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for west central Allegany County and east central Cattaraugus County until 8:45 p.m. Friday, but it was canceled roughly two hours early.

Heavy rain is potentially causing flooding issues for isolated pockets of the Southern Tier.  Areas near and just north of Cuba is the area of biggest concern. According to the National Weather Service, between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain has fallen so far, with more rain possible.

Any heavier showers will continue to wind down through the evening with any food waters receding into the overnight. Remember to never attempt to cross a flooded roadway,

Overnight, there’s a chance of a few showers and that will take us into parts of Saturday.

Saturday will be a drier day, but there could be some widely scattered showers, and also a few t-storms especially in the afternoon and in the Southern Tier.

Sunday looks beautiful and sunny, temperatures in the mid 80s, but a cool down is on the way for next week.

Stay tuned to Storm Team 2 for updates.
