BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Code Blue has been issued for Sunday night in both Erie County and the City of Buffalo.
An overnight shelter will be open at 586 Genesee St. in Buffalo from 8 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday. However, the daytime warming shelter will be closed on Monday.
Code Blue is an emergency safety plan that provides outreach, transportation, shelter, and food to people who don't have a place where they can stay warm when temperatures or wind chill falls to 32 degrees or below.
Code Blue Clients can get bus tickets to the Code Blue Shelter when Code Blue is called at the NFTA Metro Transportation Center from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. No waiting is allowed outside of those hours.
