CODE BLUE issued in Buffalo and southern Erie County

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A CODE BLUE has been issued for Buffalo and southern Erie County.

The following overnight shelters will be open Tuesday night:

  • Lincoln Field House, 10 Quincy Street, Buffalo, 14212 - 5pm-8am
  • Holy Cross, 412 Niagara Street, Buffalo, 14201 - 6pm-7am, serving men only
  • Rural Outreach Center, 765 Olean Road, East Aurora, 7pm-7am

The Rural Outreach Center & Lincoln Field House will be CLOSED Wednesday (11/25) as daytime warming centers.

If you know anyone on the street in need of shelter during the evening hours, please direct them to the Code Blue Shelters. Between 6pm and 9pm you can direct them to the NFTA Metro Transportation Center. 

If you see someone in need, please call 211 to have an outreach team dispatched from 7pm-11pm.

Clients will not be permitted to access the NFTA Metro Transportation Center until 7pm. They will be directed to Harbor House.

Outside of the City of Buffalo, the Rural Outreach Center provides shelter when the temperature or wind chill in Southern Erie County is below 32 degrees.

The Rural Outreach Center (ROC) is located at 765 Olean Road in East Aurora.   People in need of shelter for Southern Erie County can call 716-240-2220 x106. ROC has a van that will be dispatched at 7pm each night temperatures fall below 32 degrees to pick up homeless people in those areas and bring them to the shelter.
