Mayor issues BUFFALERT on upcoming snow headed to city

Motorists should be prepared headed to the city Wednesday morning.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The City of Buffalo Mayor, Byron Brown posted to his social media pages on Tuesday alerting city residents of upcoming forecasted snow for the area. 

It is expected that the city could get 1-3 inches mostly impacting those on their morning commutes to work.

BUFFALERT: The 1st measurable snowfall of the season for the City of Buffalo is expected Wednesday morning. 1-3 inches during AM commute. Motorists be prepared.

Many parts of the southern-tier, and south towns in WNY got  the first taste of winter weather, and other parts in the north have yet to see any snow on the ground.

A Lake Effect Snow Warning continues for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and southern Erie counties until 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. 

A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect for northern Erie county 4am to 11am Wednesday morning for 1 to 3 inches of snow during the morning commute. Be ready for slick travel conditions and reduced visibilities.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Allegany county as well as Potter and McKean counties until 7am Wednesday morning. 4 to 7 inches of snow is possible.
