BUFFALO, NY-- They're getting ready for the snow here in Buffalo to help keep the commute as smooth as it can be on Thursday.
Mayor Byron Brown says the city has 7,000 tons of salt ready to start the winter along with 70 plows, three of them new this year.
"We have a brand new tandem, which is the bulk of our work. It's the big plow behind us that does the bulk of our work during major events, helping us cover the 800 lane miles that we have effectively," said Mayor Brown.
The city also wants to remind people how important it is to follow parking rules so they can get snow off the roads for drivers, and especially first responders.
