Buffalo breaks a high temperature record for Monday

Highs shattered the record daily high, surpassing 70 degrees in some areas of WNY.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo set a new record daily high temperature on Monday. 

Buffalo reached 72 F, breaking the daily record high of 63 set back in 1974.  And the high temperature was even matched by mid morning.  At 10:40am the temperature recorded at the Buffalo Airport was 64 degrees.

Tuesday will still be very warm with near to around record highs in the mid to upper 60s, and clouds increasing.  The current daily record high for the date is 68 set back in 2004.  

Expect rain showers to move in during Tuesday evening and rounds of rain to last at times into Wednesday as a cold front moves through the area.

Temperatures will fall back down to highs in the 40s to low 50s the rest of the week, which is still above average.

It looks like some rain is in the forecast for this upcoming weekend. with perhaps some snow mixing in too.  More updates as we get closer.
