BUFFALO, N.Y. — This Sunday will be the first game to be held back at Highmark Stadium since the record lake effect in mid-November. And wouldn't you know, snow is in the forecast.
The weekend will start out sunny and cool Saturday but quickly change as a weak surface low slides through Western New York Sunday. This will bring scattered rain and snow showers throughout the day, likely impacting morning tailgates and potentially the game.
But as it stands, precipitation looks to be, for the most part, light and scattered. A gradual, slushy accumulation of snow can't be ruled out either by Sunday evening.
Temperatures Sunday will start in the upper 20s or low 30s as clouds roll in. So any precipitation Sunday will likely start as snow. But as temperatures rise into the upper 30s later on in the day, say around kickoff, precipitation could transition to more of a rain/snow mix.
Thankfully, there won't be much wind to contend with. Just a light, southerly breeze at about 10-15 mph with the occasional gust.
As you head home from the game, there will be some snow showers, that won't likely stick, but it may require you to brush off your car before heading home.
