BUFFALO, N.Y. — The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issues a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of Western New York.
A Winter Weather Advisory is currently in effect for Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties until 5 p.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service says 7 to 14 inches of snow is possible in areas of higher terrain, with 4 to 7 inches of snow expected in lower elevations. For Buffalo, totals will be a more modest with 2 to 3 inches.
Keep in mind, these snow totals are for Sunday through early Tuesday.
Meanwhile, wind gusts are expected to get as high as 30 mph today, from the west.
These lake enhanced snow showers may limit visibility and could make travel difficult at times. Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution, especially while traveling in areas of higher terrain.
The biggest impact will be during the Monday morning commute, especially along the Thruway south of Buffalo and Route 5, Route 20, Route 219 and Route 400.
