BUFFALO, N.Y. — Need a job? Looking for a career change?
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is looking to hire TSA officers at airports across New York State, including in Buffalo.
TSA officers are needed within the next few months at the following airports:
- Syracuse Hancock International
- Albany International
- Buffalo-Niagara International
- Plattsburgh International
- Ogdensburg International
- Ithaca Tompkins International
- Greater Binghamton
- Watertown International Airport
TSA officers screen thousands of airline travelers every day. As more people begin traveling, and the upcoming holiday season, they need additional officers to support their security mission.
"Applicants do not need previous experience working in security or law enforcement fields. Our officers will receive extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and they are paid while undergoing training," said Bart R. Johnson, TSA’s Federal Security Director for the airports in Upstate New York.
"The TSA was created after the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001, and by joining the TSA you be on the front line of protecting the travelling public and you will also be part of our national security enterprise," Johnson added.
Some of the airports have only one vacancy, while others have a handful of positions open.
Those that are hired will receive a $500 hiring bonus and and additional $500 after they complete one year of service with the TSA.
