CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Travel is expected to once again pick up in the next few weeks, as more Western New Yorkers head out of town for the holidays.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provided reminders Wednesday, telling air travelers to get to the airport early, and to make sure you're not bringing any weapons or large containers of liquids in your carry-on bags.
Despite staffing shortages in all sorts of industries over the past year, the TSA says there are plenty of officers to keep things moving at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
"We have a great staff here. We're constantly hiring. It's a great job. You're part of the national security enterprise. You're part of the federal government. I appreciate what the officers do, so we're staffed where we need to be, and I don't anticipate any problems over the holiday season here in Buffalo, New York," said Bart Johnson, TSA Federal Security Director.
The TSA also recommends passengers arrive two hours before a flight in order to comfortably get through security and be less rushed. You can log onto the TSA's website to see a complete list of items that you can and cannot bring through security.
