BUFFALO, N.Y. — On Wednesday, Buffalo Niagara International Airport announced it would be adding two more destinations from Buffalo.

Frontier Airlines will begin flying to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport three times a week beginning on May 26. It will also be flying to Atlanta three times a week starting May 27.

The airline already services Buffalo to multiple locations in Florida, Cancun, Denver, Las Vegas, San Juan, Raleigh, Phoenix, Charlotte, Jamaica, and Nashville.

Those won't be the only added flight paths from BUF this summer.

Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines will begin service out of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport starting on June 9, 2022. Sun Country bills themselves as a new breed of hybrid low-cost carrier featuring service, charter and cargo businesses.

People could begin booking flights on Sun Country from Buffalo to Minneapolis this past November.

Flights from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

“We are pleased to welcome Sun Country Airlines to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport family,” said Kimberley Minkel, executive director at the NFTA. “It is exciting for us to offer more travel choices in the post-pandemic environment and continue to be a major catalyst for economic growth in our region.”

Both of these airlines are budget airlines. Flights to Dallas on Frontier are advertised as starting at $40.

The new routes in Buffalo are among over 30 new travel routes being added to Frontier's roster.
