Which roads will be closed during the annual Turkey Trot

All drivers not participating in the Turkey Trot should avoid Delaware Avenue on Thanksgiving morning.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Several roads in and around downtown Buffalo will be closed for the 128th Annual YMCA Turkey Trot.

Traffic on some Buffalo streets Thanksgiving morning will be closed at:

  • Delaware Ave. from Hertel Ave. to Comet Ave. between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
  • Franklin St. from Court St. to W. Mohawk St. from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Pearl St. between West Mohawk St. and Court St. (both ways) from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Delaware Avenue will have ongoing closures and re-openings from Comet to West Eagle during the Turkey Trot.

Police and race organizers are encouraging people to avoid Delaware Avenue altogether during the race. 

The Turkey Trot will kick off at 9:00 a.m. sharp on Thanksgiving morning, November 23 in North Buffalo at the corner of Delaware and Tacoma Avenues.
