CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — A traffic study at Union Road and the 33 in Cheektowaga is now done and it found that the collision rate there is above the state average.
The study was requested after a 16-year-old Cleve Hill Student was killed last year while riding her bike on the way to a summer job.
The study also clears the way for safety improvements there in the spring of 2021.
The recommended improvements include replacing traffic signals. building better pedestrian facilities and closing one of the driveways into the airport plaza.
