BUFFALO, N.Y. — The travel advisory in southern Erie County has been lifted as of 7 a.m. Friday.
All travel bans in Western New York have been lifted.
The Town of Amherst travel advisory has been lifted.
Route 219 and Route 400 are now open.
Route 5 and the Skyway are open.
The ban has been lifted on the I-90/I-190 Exit 46 to PA state line.
“A government’s primary responsibility is ensuring the safety of the public, and the conditions we will be experiencing over the next two days are potentially life-threatening,” said Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz. “We are urging residents to stay off the roads as much as possible during this winter event, for their own protection and to minimize potential problems for the Public Works and Emergency Services personnel who will be working to keep us all safe during this winter storm.”
