Route 33 closures set to begin Monday night

After a few delays, the project to work on the Dodge Street overpass is set to begin on May 1.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Overnight closures of outbound Route 33 are scheduled to resume on Monday for repairs following an accident.

According to Traffic Tracker 2's Dave Cash, the closures will begin on Monday night after being delayed.

The closure will be from Best Street to East Delavan Street Mondays through Fridays from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During the closure, crews will be making repairs to the Dodge Street overpass after it was hit by a truck in March. Traffic continues to be one-lane on Dodge Street.

Drivers traveling eastbound should follow the detour signs using the Best Street off-ramp.

The DOT also reminds drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
