BUFFALO, N.Y. — If you drive the I-290, expect some delays in the coming weeks.
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) says lane and ramp closures on the I-290 westbound will begin July 13.
Crews will be restriping and realigning travel lanes in preparation for the closure of the Niagara Falls Boulevard off ramp.
Cars traveling west on I-290 and those merging on to the highway from the southbound I-990 will not be able to access the Niagara Falls Boulevard off ramp and will be directed to use a detour at the Colvin Boulevard exit.
Work on the Niagara Falls Boulevard off ramp will begin July 20 and will be closed for two weeks, provided the weather cooperates.
Work speed zones will be posted.
