BUFFALO, N.Y. — More families went on road trips this summer, according to AAA, contributing to an increase in demand as well as the price of gas.
Since last week, gas prices in Buffalo have gone up by two cents. The average price of gas in the state is $3.21, up almost a dollar from the $2.26 average price last year.
Locally, prices are up between one and three cents, according to AAA.
- Batavia - $3.19 (up two cents since last week)
- Buffalo - $3.15 (up two cents since last week)
- Ithaca - $3.20 (up three cents since last week)
- Rochester - $3.19 (up three cents since last week)
- Rome - $3.25 (up one cent since last week)
- Syracuse - $3.18 (up two cents since last week)
- Watertown - $3.22 (up one cent since last week)
AAA expects gas prices to remain high as demand stays up and domestic stock remains down. The national average will likely remain above $3 for the rest of the summer.
