CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Several roads are closed right now in the Buffalo area due to flooding.
According to NITTEC, William St. was closed in both directions from Harlem Rd. to Cayuga Creek Rd. in the Town of Cheektowaga due to flooding. That road reopened just before 4 a.m.
Our 2 On Your Side photographer at the scene spotted two cars that were stuck in the flood waters under the overpass. Cheektowaga Police confirmed that everyone in those cars got out safely.
Nearby, the I-90 East exit onto William St. (52A) was also closed due to that flooding overnight, but that reopened, just before 3:30 a.m.
Traffic Tracker 2's Dave Cash says there is flooding under the viaduct between North Odgen St. and Richard Drive.
And in Depew, Transit Rd. was closed in both directions from Walden Ave. to Broadway due to flooding, that section reopened around 7 a.m.
No word yet on when any of these roads will reopen. This is a developing story and we will post updates as we learn more.
