WEST SENECA, N.Y. — Drives need to be aware of an upcoming ramp closure on the I-90 next week.
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced on Monday that the eastbound I-90 ramp to Ridge Road (exit 55) will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, May 16.
The closure is to accommodate bridge rehabilitation work on U.S. Route 219 over the Norfolk Southern Railroad in the Town of West Seneca.
NYSDOT says the bridge work is expected to last for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Drivers will be directed on a detour to exit at Mile Strip Road (exit 56), continue east on Mile Strip Road (State Route 179) to U.S. Route 219 northbound.
Drivers are being reminded to slow down and drive responsibly in construction zones. Fines for speeding in a work zone are doubled. And those convicted of two or more speeding tickets in a work zone face having their driver license suspended.
