GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. — The north and south Grand Island bridges will be seeing closures this weekend.
Beginning Friday at 8 p.m. through Saturday at 9 a.m., the South Grand Island Bridge will only have one northbound lane open. This will be for routine inspection and maintenance.
"Motorists are urged to be alert and follow the posted work zone speed limits. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone," the New York State Thruway Authority said in a statement.
On Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the North Grand Island Bridge will be closed to northbound traffic due to the Pedal for Parks Ride.
The on-ramp from the Niagara Scenic Parkway will be closed, and traffic will be diverted to the southbound Grand Island Bridge.
