Pothole patrol resumes in City of Buffalo

The city's Department of Public Works commissioner said crews are using the current break in wintry weather to get a jump-start on some problem areas.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The City of Buffalo is back on pothole patrol with seven crews out on the roads.

The city's Department of Public Works commissioner, Nate Marton, on Saturday, told 2 On Your Side that crews are using the current break in wintry weather to get a jump-start on some problem areas.

"The weather is certainly a good cooperative nature today," Marton said. "The weekend is about getting on some of those main streets and main thoroughfares.

"It's harder to do that during the week where you don't want to block people, a lot of people coming to and from work, so we don't like holding up traffic. We'll do those when we have to certainly. But we can be very planful on a day like today to hit some of those main thoroughfares."

You can call 311 to report a pothole.

The city typically responds within 48 hours, as long as the weather permits.
