Pedestrian hit, killed on Dysinger Road in Lockport

Deputies say a vehicle was traveling westbound on Dysinger Road when a pedestrian crossed the road in front of the car.

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. — A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed Tuesday evening on Dysinger Road in Lockport, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say Matthew Steinman was driving westbound on Dysinger Road when Frederick Bishop crossed the road in front of the car. The car hit Bishop. 

Bishop was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies closed part of Dysinger Road just after 6 p.m. between Old Beattie Road and Raymond Road.

The incident is under investigation.
