BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo drivers need to be aware of an upcoming project that will close a portion of Broadway for eight months.
On Monday, the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced that Buffalo Sewer Authority will begin utility work on Broadway from Elm Street to Oak Street. The work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 4 and is estimated to last eight months.
Westbound motorists will be directed to follow a detour along Elm Street, Sycamore Street and Oak Street. Eastbound motorists will be directed to follow a detour using William Street and Elm Street.
NYSDOT is also reminding drivers to slow down in work zones, where fines for speeding double. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
