BUFFALO, N.Y. — The national gas price average has dropped by three cents this week, but the average price per gallon of gas in Buffalo has remained flat.
That's according to AAA Western and Central New York.
The average price of gas is $3.33 per gallon nationally. One year ago, the average price of gas was $2.16.
AAA says oil prices dropped into the mid-$60 per barrel last week, but this week the prices were up into the $70-range.
In New York State, the average price is $3.52 per gallon. It was $2.26 one year ago.
Here is a list of average gas prices this week, per AAA:
• Batavia - $3.47 (up one cent from last week)
• Buffalo - $3.46 (no change from last week)
• Ithaca - $3.50 (down one cent from last week)

• Rome - $3.54 (down two cents from last week)

AAA says year-end holiday travel could push the demand for gas up beginning next week.
To reduce the use of fuel, AAA recommends mapping routes, avoid peak traffic times, use cruise control when possible, and combine errands into one trip.
