GENESEE COUNTY, N.Y. — People in the Genesee County town of Bethany, who have been having problems with their wells running dry, received free water Saturday at the town hall.
The town's supervisor said Genesee County is also helping out by filling tankers to bring in more water.
Carl Hyde Jr., the Bethany town supervisor, talked about the process.
"I started trying to figure out what we can do? What can be done?" he said. "And nothing like this has ever been done before for residents in an area that, all of a sudden, their wells are going dry, but with this drought, things are going to continue to get worse."
The next water tote fill is Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be another on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
