BUFFALO, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul is announcing new funding to build more zero-emission homes across New York State.
The Building Better Homes program will incentivize the design, construction, and marketing of clean new builds. It will also provide training and support to builders and developers.
"New homes built to the latest clean energy and efficiency standards will ensure greener, healthier housing is available to all New Yorkers while helping pave the way toward a more sustainable future," Governor Hochul said in a statement issued Wednesday afternoon.
Another $10 million has been made available for the Building Better Homes program, which is backed by the State’s Clean Energy Fund.
"This investment is another part of the State’s comprehensive strategy to transform the new construction market, curb emissions, and ensure fewer homes and buildings rely on fossil fuels," Hochul said.
Applications will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2025, "or until funds have been exhausted."
