BUFFALO, N.Y. — PUSH Buffalo, through their PUSH Green initiative, has launched a new hub that aims to promote access to a variety of clean energy resources.
The WNY Clean Energy Hub is part of a network of NYSERDA's regional clean energy hub network.
“The Hub will enable PUSH and its partners to scale a people-centered approach to overcoming barriers that limit access to energy efficiency and clean-energy technologies like rooftop solar and cold climate electric heat pumps," said Lou DeJesus, community energy programs manager with PUSH Green.
PUSH Green is the regional representative for NYSERDA to oversee the hub, and will engage with Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara Counties.
"We are proud to partner with PUSH Buffalo and the WNY Clean Energy Hub to provide residents and businesses in the region with essential information about clean and efficient energy opportunities," said NYSERDA president and CEO Doreen Harris. "With this launch, Western New York consumers can feel confident that they have access to a team of trustworthy, knowledgeable, community-based experts to help them navigate resources, identify ways to reduce energy use and costs, and make more informed energy decisions."
NYSERDA says they established these hubs across the state in order to provide up to date information about energy efficiency, building electrification, green jobs and healthy housing.
"We’ll do this by sharing factual information and building trust in communities that are at risk of being left behind or further marginalized," DeJesus said. "The Hub’s primary purpose is to connect residents to NYSERDA programs that reduce or eliminate the upfront costs of energy saving improvements. Our approach will help address the energy affordability crisis in our region, and in the process, make our homes and communities healthier and more resilient places to live,”
