WNY Winter Hiking Challenge is back for 2024 season

This winter, Outside Chronicles is offering 36 trails to help keep people active in the colder months

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Outside Chronicles has announced its new trails for the upcoming 2024 Western New York Winter Hiking Challenge. The full list will be revealed on Dec. 15.

There are 36 trails to choose from, with each hike worth 3, 5, or 8 points. 50 points will earn you a finisher patch.

Outside Chronicles says hikers will be using the Eventzee App to track their progress, earn badges, view the leaderboard, and check trail conditions, just like during the summer challenge.

The Winter Hiking Challenge starts December 14th, and hikers need to finish by March 20th.

To take part, it costs $25 per person, $45 for pet and owner, $65 per family, and $20 for scouts.

All profits from hiker registrations will be donated to Earth Spirit Educational Services with special donations to Pfeiffer Nature Center, ACORNS, and Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue. Outside Chronicles says it's donated more than $400,000 dollars to organizations with its hiking challenges over the years
