Meet safari animals up close at Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley Animal Adventure to run seven days a week this summer- starting June 22.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Starting this weekend, visitors can kick off their summer with a trip to the safari at Varysburg's Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, opening Saturday June 22 for their 15th season of safari tours.

The park's self-guided tours allow visitors to have an up close and personal experience — meeting kangaroos, zebras, water buffalo — and a total of 42 different animal species all from the comfort of your personal car on their self guided drive-through tours. The tour runs an hour long, and visitors are welcome to feed the animals up close.

Hidden Valley offers a bus tour for visitors to see the 350 animals that roam freely on the grounds, in addition to a walking tour of the smaller animals on site.

According to a release, visitors can expect changes at the animal park for this season- including expansions made to the small animal adventure attraction, petting zoo, and gift shop. Hidden Valley's new and improved trading post gift shop has a new location inside the lower level of the park's Lodge, while the old gift shop is under transformation to soon display and sell elk and deer antler sheds.

Throughout the summer, Hidden Valley's park grounds will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with tours running from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Everyday tours will end after Labor Day, Sept. 2, returning to weekend tours only.
