The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and Agriculture and Markets has announced that the week of July 8th - July 14th is Invasive Species Awareness Week in New York State.
Invasive species are plants, animals, insects and pathogens that are not native to an area and cause harm to the environment, economy or human health.
To raise awareness, the state is holding more than 100 Invasive Species Awareness Week events statewide.
