PARIS, France — West Seneca native Matt Anderson and the USA men's volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The U.S. jumped out of the gates with an early lead, taking the first set 26-24.
Brazil would put up a fight in the second though, evening up the score by a set a piece with the 30-28 performance in the set.
It wouldn't be enough to hold off the Americans as they won the next two sets 25-19 to take the win by an overall score of three sets to one.
Anderson led the team with 20 points, going 17 for 28 on the attack and three for 14 on the block.
With the win on Monday, the USA will advance to the semifinal against Poland which is scheduled for Wed., Aug. 7 at 10 a.m.
