PARIS, France — Jessica Pegula is headed to the second round of the Paris Olympics singles tennis competition after a Sunday win over Switzerland's Viktorija Golubic.

She would only need two sets to secure her place in the next round, going 6-3 and 6-4.

Pegula's second straight-set victory of the weekend comes just one day after she and partner Coco Gauff earned their first win in the doubles tennis competition.

She will advance to face Ukraine's Elina Svitolina on Monday, July 29. It is the fourth scheduled match of the day on the Philippe Chatrier Court.
