Family and friends of the West Seneca West graduate will hold another watch party for the quarterfinal match.

WEST SENECA, N.Y. — West Seneca native Matt Anderson and the U.S. men's volleyball team completed a clean sweep in group play on Friday.

After that, Team USA was forced to wait to find who who they would play in the quarterfinals, and when. That part was announced Saturday, after all group matches went final.

The Americans drew the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 seed Brazil to start the knockout round. That match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. Monday.

The other quarterfinal matches on Monday include France vs. Germany, Italy vs. Japan, and Slovenia vs. Poland.

Anderson's family and friends will hold another watch party for this quarterfinal match. It will be held at Hamburg Taproom: Just Pizza & Wing Company, at 4170 Southwestern Boulevard in Hamburg.

The United States finished 3-0 in Group C, followed by Germany (2-1), Japan (1-2), and Argentina (0-3).

Anderson became the youngest member of Team USA men's volleyball in 2010, and he has competed in the Olympics in London, Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. He won an bronze medal back in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Team USA won two of its first three matches three years ago during the Summer Games in Tokyo before ultimately falling to fifth place in pool play. The team missed the quarterfinals for the first time in 21 years.
