BUFFALO, N.Y. — When the Sabres hit the ice for practice Sunday, there was a pleasant surprise.

Forward Jeff Skinner, who has been skating on his own for about two weeks, joined his teammate for practice.

Skinner has been out since late December when he suffered an upper-body injury in a collision with the Bruins' David Pastrnak during a game at KeyBank Center.

The Sabres are still listing Skinner as day-to-day. Skinner has 11 goals and eight assists in 39 games.

The Sabres are home Tuesday night against Ottawa. It's a 7 p.m. face-off at KeyBank Center. Nine of the Sabres' next 10 games are at home.
