Sabres announce Benson and Levi injuries

Rookies Zach Benson and Devon Levi are both day-to-day with lower body injuries.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Sabres could be without some of their promising rookies for the next few games.

The team announced on social media Friday, Zach Benson and Devon Levi are both day-to-day with lower body injuries.

Benson has been seeing consistent playing time in his first 4 games with the team, posting 2 points in that span, and averaging 14 minutes of ice time a night.

Levi, who has been the Sabres de facto starting goalie, has stumbled out of the gate. He's 1-3 right now, with a .892 Save Percentage and a 3.26 Goal Against Average. The Sabres are carrying a goalie trio, with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen or Eric Comrie both waiting for their first start of the season in net.

The Sabres home stand continues Saturday, as the New York Islanders come to town. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. No word yet on who will start in goal.
